Founder background

Dian Mullis, President

I grew up on a farm in Northern Minnesota. I hold two Bachelor of Science Degrees from the top Engineering school in the country, Kettering University. I have my BS in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mathematics. I have been an automotive engineer and I have been an Engineering leader for two manufacturing businesses for over 12 years.

I have general contracted three homes. In my first house, I installed a unique ceramic tile floor that had a hardwood border around each tile. I also framed, trimmed, installed cabinets and painted the first house. My second house I built for my handicap daughter for accessibility. I created a large walk in all ceramic tile shower with a glass front. I installed hardwood flooring and acid stained the concrete bedroom floors. My third house I installed ceramic tile throughout and got to the countertops. Granite just seemed so COMMON and BORING. Everyone's house has granite I thought to myself. Other surfaces like marble or quartz also seemed so expensive. I started to research concrete countertops. Then I made a small vanity out of concrete and fell in love. The possibilities seemed endless to what I could make! All my countertops in my home are concrete. I built a large outdoor fireplace (see my gallery for photos) that had several concrete tops in it. I have a passion for building things and I enjoy making functional pieces of art. If you can dream it, I can build it!

We are a member of the Central Minnesota Home Builders Association, a lifetime member of the Concrete Countertop Institute and have a Minnesota Contractors License.
