If you could finish or remodel your basement, what would you add? This house has a HUGE theater with built in recliners, LED lights and black out blinds. It also has a BOSE sound system for surround sound, but where is the concrete?

There is a small kitchenette that has a full concrete backsplash and concrete countertops. This concrete countertop and full backsplash have a unique and one of a kind modern design.

Another great place to add concrete is the stair treads and risers! These concrete stair treads and risers are an ombre pattern. Each concrete stair tread and riser starts at white and transitions to black, but in opposing directions!

The process was somewhat challenging as each step was templated to fit the space. There was no skirt board so there was no room for error and each concrete tread and riser had to slowly transition the color.

The old treads and risers were removed one by one and replaced with concrete stair treads and risers that were 3/4″ thick!

A white concrete stair railing was also added with color changing LED lights. Each concrete stair tread and riser was cast right side up and we used our dirty trowel method for a unique tactile feel. We feel it is important to have texture in a home for an earthy feel.
